This park is located in
the Northeast corner of Palakkad district, Silent Valley was named a National
Park only in 1984. The 89.52 sq.km jungle park is believed to be the sole
existing bit of evergreen jungle in the Sahya Ranges. The place was famous for
'Sairandhrivanam' as it was believed this was where Sairandhiri (the wife of
the Pandavas in the epic Mahabharatha) hid along with her five husbands, the

The park is situated
in the core of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve which is a rich storehouse of

Parambikulam wildlife sanctuary is
one of Kerala’s first wildlife reserves which lie in the Anamalai Hills, south
of the Palghat Gap in the Western Ghats.

amazing sights. Parambikulam dam and the surrounding forest and wildlife is one

Malampuzha Dam
Malambuzha Dam is one of the popular dams and is the largest reservoir in

and an earthen dam, is a 6,066 ft. The dam and reservoir are located about
eight kilometers from the Olavakode railway station and 13kms. The distance
